Watch Where You Sit

As I walked from the train station to the Ferry Building about 2 miles, I encountered these interesting cement benches along the way. From a distance, I thought what was wrong with these seats, but as I got closer, I could see they were decorated with turtles, octopi, and clams. Watch where you sit!

This is a continuation of my photographic journey through San Francisco this past weekend with more similar postings to come.

Cool benches. Where in SF are they?

I am going to be wandering those streets next month.

Intriguing, to say the least. Touches like this make our lives rich. Thank goodness for those who create and those who support creativity.

I agree with you about that woman in the window needing a coat. Tonight the low is supposed to be 30 down here in our part of the Willamette valley. I'll bundle up in a little while, put Duncan's coat on him and take him for his last walk of the day.

Oswegan, you can't miss it if you walk between AT&T Park and the Rincon Park with the big bow & arrow structure on The Embarcadero.

Lynette, this area of SF used to be really dumpy and you wouldn't want to walk there, but now they are building all sorts of stores, restaurants, and housing in the area. The traffic is horrible on the weekends.

The turtles are really cute. What a great idea.

It's a cute idea, but isn't there a bit much of them? I mean, leave some room to sit or bike or somethin' :)

The little turtles and all are really cute! I guess they must be firmly attached to prevent theft.

Those are really cute! And very interesting. You are like me, always on the lookout for interesting and photographic things!

Web-oj, there turtles were cute, but the octopi looked dangerously big. Someone can get hurt.

Isadora, you're right. I thought there were too many on the edges where most people sit and the octopi heads are too big.

Hi Andrea, thanks and come back for more. I've got lots more to come.

Thanks Katch! I appreciate you dropping by.

Dot, I didn't try prying them out, but I think they are pretty firmly intact. Haha! I did see some bird graffiti on some. :P

Dana, you're right. Too bad you live so far. I think we would have fun going photo hunting. Sometimes when I miss a good photo opportunity, I would get mad at myself. Go figure.
