Black Friday Shopping
Today was my first foray into the Black Friday shopping chaos. After studying the local newspaper circular's all week for the best pricing on a GPS system, we headed out at 5:30 AM to Staples, the local office supply store, which was selling a state-of-art GPS for under $100. Of course, by the time we arrived, there were already 100 people ahead of us. Once we set foot into the store a few minutes after it opened at 6 AM, we were informed all the sub-$100 GPS were already sold out as only those people who were at the front of the line received tickets to buy them.
We quickly left and headed over to Radio Shack which was also selling the same GPS system for $50 more, but still less than its regular price. Luckily, the lines here were shorter and we bought the last one on the shelf. We gave the GPS a spin after we got home and it works like a champ!
Here's our new Navigon 2100 GPS so hopefully, we'll never be lost again...
Let me know if you have any Black Friday stories to tell or were you smart and stayed in bed this morning.

You were very brave! Glad you got what you wanted.
You are braver than I.
I just stayed home and did yard work.

My, you are brave. I am glad you got what you want. Since I live about a 1/2 mile from Circuit City, Costco, Home Depot, Office Max, Best Buy etc, I didn't even venture out on the roads.
I like Mr. Chippy, he gave me a laugh.
Dot/Oswegan/Digital Flower, That was probably the last time I'll do that again. I heard some people were trampled at other stores. Glad you smart ones stayed home.
Well my thought was to go and get one as well, but we just bought the streets and maps in Sept, i like it but i have to pack the lap top with me. But then the only time i need it is when we travel in the motor home.
And yes you were brave, we decided this yr that there wasn't anything worth going out for that early.
Hubby definitely said he wasn't going again. I made him go last yr. LOL
Lilli & Nevada, Hubby has Streets & Maps too, but too cumbersome with the laptop. I guess it's not so bad in a RV with more room. Hubby made me go this year, but I guess we learned our lesson!? We'll see...
The Navigon looks very interesting. You know, I can read Canosa on the board there. I actually studied in a school called Canossa Convent in Mumbai, India.
Welp, you already know MY black friday story!!! Glad you guys got what you went for...unlike me!
web-oj, that wasn't an actual picture of my GPS, but a copy off of a website. But, it's a small world to have Canosa in Chicago and a Canossa in India.
Dana, sorry you didn't get want you wanted, but just think you learned something priceless not to do this again next year. ;P
