We spotted this sculpture by Max Heiges on the roadside of Highway 128 in Geyserville, California. Since it was not a very busy road, we parked to take a closer look. This piece and a handful of other artwork in the area are the brainchild of local businessowners Judy and the late Al Voight. Their foundation's vision is to promote art by placing sculptures in public places.

It makes me think of a long ago toy set comprising bendy straws and connectors. Very cool. I'd love to see this just driving down a road one day.

Cute sculpture. I might actually be up in that area in a few weeks, so will look for it.

What an odd little character. Wondering what that sign down in front says about it :)

eileeninmd: I wished I was that clever. It was artist's Max Heiges' idea of the sculpture's title.

Kate: I think birds would love it. I'm surprised none are on it.

Colleen: It's running as fast as it can.

Caite: Hmm, I wonder if the artist Max Heiges would start making and selling smaller versions. I wouldn't mind having one myself.

Glenda: Thanks for visiting and commenting!

LondonLulu: You can probably build a miniature model from straws. :)

Louis: Thanks! It is fun to look at.

catsynth: It's right across from the Welcome to Geyserville sign.

Sukhmandir Kaur: The sign in front lists the artist's name and the name of the piece which is called "Run Home".

alp: I think it is cool too and the color makes it stand out.

Yogi: I like it too. Could not help myself to stop and get a closer look.

ladyfi: Nice to see on a freeway and get a smile out of it.

betchai: Glad you enjoyed it too!
