Protect the Relics

Thousands of visitors stream into the Forbidden City regularly so barriers had to be posted around the relics.
You may notice some major cracks in this relief art.

Over 300 bronze water barrels are situated throughout the Forbidden City. Other than for decoration, back in ancient times, they would be filled with water in case of fire.
As you can see, barricades are there to deter further damages, but this visitor just had to touch it.

Signs and barricades like these beside each art piece was not unusual.

Some of us just do not know the important of protecting the relics.

Relics are of greatest value and I am absolutely pleased to see them preserved

Very cool photos and it doesn't surprise me at all, the level of security there. They know what's important. Loving the series.

What beautiful images and I would have been compelled to touch them as well.

People still reach over the barricade to touch at the water barrel...hehe. They should have constructed wider barricades.
