Cherry Pickers

With very little rain this season, Spring-like weather arrived early in California.
Cherry blossoms have been blooming for weeks and the wild birds are just loving the little fruits they bear.

It is entertaining to watch from my kitchen window the various birds that arrive each day to feast here.
I think this is a California Towhee bird. Can any bird expert confirm?

From closer inspection, this one has berry juice on its beak.

I would think that cherries would be just the thing for wild birds.

I was expecting some kind of machine but these birds are better.

are the birds eating the blooms?

what a timing you had. were you sitting there waiting or just serendipity?

Photo Cache: They are eating the berries on the tree. The birds visit regularly so I took my camera out and took many shots while they were eating.

Great shots! I especially love the second one - very clear and caught in a perfect moment.
