Last weekend, Sunnyvale, a city here in the Silicon Valley, celebrated its 100th year anniversary. Although it had been in existence decades before, it was not formally incorporated until 1912. The town was originally known for farming and orchards, later for a fruit packing factory and an iron works plant, and today, for its high-tech industry.
For its centennial celebration, the city invited organizations, families, companies, ...etc. to create a scarecrow that best represents the city's history. Some scarecrows were cheerful, some were odd, and a few quite frightening. I do not know who won, but you can judge for yourself.

The scarecrows are not frightening but funny.
I have seen quite a few scarecrow collections - they seem to be popular these days - but the ones you have photographed are much more interesting than most. They are, in fact, pretty creepy, I'm just imagining them coming to life!
There used to be a children's series I used to read as a kid that had a scarecrow character come to life. It terrified me!!!
They sure are some pretty interesting looking scarecrows!
These scarecrows do look surely amazing and interesting.
These are certainly not the typical wooden crosses.

I love open ended contests. Great scarecrows.
I prefer a funny or an adorable scarecrow. I watched a Japanese horror movie about a scarecrow coming alive and killing the owner and his family of a farm. It was terrifying. *tremble*

Hehe the white-faced 'guy' doesn't look like a scarecrow at all.
Picture wise I like the colour saturation, they look vibrant!
