Please Feed Me

Almost everywhere we went in Taiwan, we encountered what I assumed are stray dogs walking the streets and even some highways. It was a sad sight to see some previously injured and walking on three legs.
This one greets us as we returned to our tour bus. He must have gotten used to tourists feeding him.

I walked up onto the bus and looked back at him. He did not move or make a sound even as our bus pulled away.
I thought of my dog back at home and thought how spoiled he is while this one isn't so lucky.

What a lovable looking dog. It's such a shame it doesn't have an owner.

Many cities have stray cats or dogs and I always think it is heartbreaking. In the town where I lived in South Africa, there was an explosion of stray cats and a local nursery took them in, spayed them all and now gives them annual shots. In exchange, their population is controlled and they eat any rats or mice that might threaten the plants and shrubs.

I hope they occasionaly get something to eat. I had the same feeling in Thailand but there the dogs get a lot of food.

Greetings,
Filip

He looks so sweet. It is truly amazing how spoiled American pets are.

Jenny: He was one of many dogs I felt sorry for. I guess there isn't a neuter/spay law.

Filip: I hope so too. He doesn't look too malnourished.

Rainfield61: I wish I could take him home.

La Principessa Errante: Yes, American pets are pampered and sometimes more so than humans.

It is a sad sight for sure seeing stray dogs looking lost and lonely at the side of the road. When I was living in Barbados, homeless and injured dogs were a common sight.
