What type of bird is it? Is that lunch in its mouth?

Beautiful!

A beautiful bright yellow bird, Song worthy even if that's not a banana tree:)

I love the vivid colors. It looks like the bird is enjoying a snack, too.

Superb picture, the bird is such a vibrant colour. We don't have anything like that flying around in London, those big nasty crows and seagulls we have would soon kill them.

Oh I just adore birds and he is beautiful!!! A great capture.

Betchai: Your beautifuly butterfly photos needed no words.

Lina: Thanks!

Ryan: I believe it is a Bullock's Oriole. Yes, it caught a bug for lunch. Yummy!

Yogi: Thanks! Trying out my new lens. :)

Sukhmandir Kaur: I had a hard time telling if it was yellow or orange. There are yellow orioles and there are orange orioles. Since the yellow ones are native to South America, these are most likely the orange ones native to North America.

Catsynth: I didn't notice it had food in his mouth until I saw the picture at home.

William: I was at a nature preserve; otherwise, I doubt I would see one in the city too.

Poetic Shutterbug: Thank you. If you go to the Palo Alto Baylands, you can see it too.

such a beautiful bird. how did you manage to get her to pose so nicely for you?

Y. Ikeda: It does look like a bug breakfast.

Life Ramblings: It was all luck just like any nature photo. One has to probably take 100 photos just to get 1 good one. :)
