Santa Cruz Treasures

I am not sure what these round things are, but they remind me of eggs yolks. There is an inscription, but I could not make out the half-faded words which were flooded in bright sunlight.
If anyone knows, please enlighten us.

This life-size gray whale model is outside the Santa Cruz City Museum of Natural History.

Enjoy your weekend,
Karen

beautiful sculptures, and against the blue sky and blue ocean, they stand out.

Don't know what the balls represent but the structure kind of reminds me of Stonehenge a little.

What a lovely sculpture! The seats look like segments of the whole, that is for sure... I would love to sit there and watch the water.

Love the whale too.

Then, they are rotten egg yolks.

That what is so cool. I haven't been to Santa Cruz in years. During the Summers our family would always go and spend days there. I miss it, I'll have to get back out there one of these days. Great shots. And, yes, they do look like egg yolks :)

Oh wow, I remember that sculpture at Cowell Beach from when I lived in Santa Cruz. The one with the "henge" and the "melon slices". I was quite fond of it :)
