Dallas Mall

This is the Plaza of the Americas mall right next to my hotel. I ate here quite often because the hotel food was so expensive. The mall is surrounded by office buildings and a hotel with eateries on the 1st and 2nd floors. In the center of the mall is an ice skating rink which you can see 2 skaters practicing their routines.

Statue in front of the hotel inside the mall

Here is a close up of the statue. Does anyone know what it is?

My husband and I were in Dallas, Texas this past week so you will be seeing quite a few photos of my adventures soon. We were "lucky" enough to be victims of the American Airline flight cancellations due to the required FAA mechanical inspections. After numerous calls to American Airline, we finally were able to get a hold of a human on the phone and be booked on another flight. Let's hope we can get on that flight although Dallas is not a bad place to stay.

Have a nice weekend,
AV

I guess I'm really a country girl but I've never seen such sights as these. Never seen an ice rink or such a grand mall. As far as the statue goes I don't have a clue. It will be interesting to find out tho.

Nice pictures of your mall. I am not a mall shopper....well, I go but not often. The closest mall to me is probably 35 miles away.

That place looks really cool! I hope you got a flight home with no problems!

The plaza looks like it would be a pleasant place during which one could spend some time. Are you going to identify the statue for us?!

Thank you for your comments. I haven't figured out what is the name of the statue. Yes, I did get home on Friday safely so thank you for asking. I'm not much of a mall rat myself, but it was much cheaper eating there than the hotel. Since the mall is in the financial district of the city, everything shuts down after 5pm or earlier. A few eateries stay open until 7pm if people are lingering in the mall.

Sorry you got stuck by the airline problems. Worse places than Dallas to be delayed, though. North Dakota, comes to mind. :)
