Moon Bridge

This is the "Moon Bridge" in San Francisco's Japanese Tea Garden. Visitors like to climb this steep bridge from one end to the other. I remember doing this as a kid.

Oh, I want to climb it too! It's so pretty! It must be made of steps or how could you stay on? lol

What an incredible structure. It must be like a ladder on the sides - more like an arch than a bridge. :)

Dot/Isadora, Yep there are little wooden steps across the bridge, but you have to be on your toes because those steps are only a few inches wide.

I think I have in fact climbed it - but I lost the film documenting it. (It was those days). I lost most of the pictures of the Golden Gate Pictures too :-8(

I have never seen a bridge like that. It is so pretty. I am sure children love the challenge.

Cannot help but notice the crooked tree below the bridge and of course the water. This would make an interesting wall hanging.

That is the coolest!!! I have never seen anything like it either. Yea, it must have steps (stairs) cause there is no way you could get up it if it didn't.....unless it was an escalator.

Cool picture!

I too remember many walks over this bridge as a kid. I need to take my kids back to this bridge. I just posted a pic of our latest family member. Have a look.

Runee, I guess you'll have to make another trip to San Francisco so you can recapture those memories.

Hpy, it is a ver quiet and peaceful place, but I think all Japanese gardens are like that. Definitely a worthwhile place to visit when you get a chance.

Roentarre, the bridge is impressive. I bet it is the kids favorite part of the visit along with the koi pond.

Andrea, you've got a good eye. That is an interesting crooked tree. Not sure if that is natural or it was intended to be crooked since it's a well-tended garden.

Dana, no escalator there. See today's post to see how the "stairs" look like on the bridge.

Mr. Mapper, Yeah the memories. Your kids would love it if they haven't been there before. Haha, I don't think they allow your dog in the garden.
