Success - What Does It Mean To You?

This morning my husband and I were engaged in a philosophical discussion about how a person thinks he or she is successful. After some deep thinking, he came up with living a happy and balanced life. I think mine is having the opportunity to do almost whatever I want. In other words, my destiny is in my hands. Of course, being happy and healthy are up there too.
Success means different things to different people. Some might say being wealthy, others might say raising healthy and productive children, whereas others might say having lots of friends.
What does being successful mean to you???

Being sucessful to me means being satisfied with where I am in life and at peace. I think both of your definitions work for me too.
Photowannabe, I guess a majority of us want the same things. Thank you for sharing. I just found out the other day that you're related to Mr. Mapper.
To me success means being happy with who i am. Having good health (so Far) happy in my marriage, seeing my children happy. Very good post. makes one think for sure.

Success for me has meant different things at different times. It depends on where I am on my personal journey.
