Q is for Quiet Places on ABC Wednesday

This is the Friendship Bridge at the local Japanese Garden. A nice calm and quiet place to reflect.

I spied a couple sitting at the quiet and fairly deserted Coronado's Ferry Landing Marketplace pier overlooking the San Diego skyline.

This is the famous Old St. Mary's Cathedral in San Francisco and a quiet place to worship although it is well visited by tourists.

This is my sleepy dog Maverick who is getting ready for a nap during a quiet afternoon.

It's so nice to take a back seat sometimes and watch the world go by.

You can't beat the Japanese for tranquillity.

I would have loved to eavesdrop on that couple's conversation. :)

Such a beautiful church. We couldn't build these structures today.

Great how dogs can fall asleep and keep one eye open!

Great captures of 'Quiet'.

Denise, you always sound to busy to have a moment of quietness. Glad to hear Wilma is keeping you company as you do your paperwork which doesn't sound fun at all.

Mike, the skyline is beautiful at night. There are some dinner cruises one can take to fulfill the stomach and eyes.

Hpy, Everyone deserves some quiet time if not quiet weeks especially after the upcoming holidays which is usually a madhouse in every household.

Deb, you're right. I did disturb Maverick during his nap. He was just so cute that I could not resist.

Walksfarwoman. At the Japanese Garden, there were signs posted around asking visitors to keep the noise level down. Of course, there were renovations being done at the time and it was extremely noisy. The couple was probably discussing how quiet it was on this side of the bay. :)

Thanks Dot. I couldn't think of anything else for Q so I'm glad you like what was posted. Maverick usually can stand only so many pictures taken of him before he gets annoyed.

KML, thanks for the compliment. The bridge was certainly a sanctuary for the ducks who were hiding underneath to escape the midday sun.

Kate Isis, we picked the name Maverick from the movie Top Gun and the name fits him to a tee. I think now, we can name him Cuckoo or Sleepyhead which are his two extremes. The bridge is fairly wide, but I'm sure you have have one built in your backyard. :)

Thanks Neva. I would love to see Simon. Maverick is extremely cute and his personality definitely puts us on our toes when he's not busy snoozing.

Thanks Lilli and Nevada for dropping by and commenting. I'll have to add you to my ABC Wednesday's participant list. I like your Quadribent post and now I know what those are called.

Oswegan, you hit the nail on the head. Maverick was not happy that I disturbed his quiet time and 8th nap of the day.

Great series of pictures. I think the church is my favorite. Have a great rest of the week.

This is a nice post. Great pictures..... quiet and peaceful looking.

Thanks Digital Flower Pictures. I've passed by that church countless number of times and went in for the first time only recently. Sometimes we miss the most beautiful places in front of us.

Chateau-Gontier, Thank you for the invitation to your blog. Very beautiful photos. I had a chance to visit Paris for 2 weeks several years ago and loved the photo opportunities.

The interior of the church is beautiful. I'd love to see some close-up shots, too. Curious...I was married in Old St. Mary's--only it was Chicago! No longer there, tho. Guess it succumbed to development.

Kate, it's sad to see historic buildings being torn down. I didn't take too many interior pictures since there were a few worshippers in the back and I didn't want to disturb their tranquil environment.
