Skywatch Friday - Transamerica Pyramid
When I see the TransAmerica Building in the distance, there is no mistake I am in San Francisco.
According to Wikipedia, construction was finished in 1972 and at one-time it was one of the tallest buildings west of the Mississippi. It has 48 floors and in the past, visitors could go as high as the 27th floor to look out its windows.
Even the shrubery outside the building is shaped like a pyramid.

ReplyDeleteNice framing of the photo, Karen, with the Alcoa building in the image. The geometry of the steel bracing on the Alcoa building compliments the geometry of the Transamerica pyramid.
ReplyDeleteThe Transamerica Insurance company was founded by Italian immigrant A.P. Giannini, who also founded Bank of America.

ReplyDeleteDid you know it is the one building in San Francisco that never has a vacancy, despite its high rents it is so desired the office space is rented the instant it comes on the market. It is a "green" building too.
