J is for Japan on ABC Wednesday

Mt. Fuji taken from outside our hotel

Ginza at night

Another photo of Ginza

Here's a few photos I took on a trip to Japan years ago. We stayed at a hotsprings resort overlooking Mt. Fuji during the winter. There is also a tour bus that can take you up half way up the mountain. And, it is cold up there!

The other photos are of Ginza, Tokyo's shopping district. The lit up billboards and signs really bring the place to life. On the weekends, the parts of the streets are closed off to traffic so hundreds of people can walkabout to do their shopping.

  3. I would love to travel to Japan someday. Until I can see Mt. Fuji in person your picture will have to do. I love the night scenes, those are well done.

  4. Digital Flower, Japan is a beautiful country. Be prepared to spend lots of money especially at a resort. In 2002, it was $8 US for a tiny glass of orange juice.

Great pics, AV, I hope I can travel to Japan some day...I haven't been outside of the US too much, except for a cruise I went on in high school where we visited Costa Mia and Cozumel. However, I do know a few Japanese words like:

    Ohayo- good morning
    Janet- good bye
    Arigato- thank you

-that's about the extent of my Japanese language knowledge..class dismissed :D

    Excellent choice for "J"!

  8. Hin man, Now that you brought it up, I guess I have traveled around. Compared to other family members, I really haven't gone to too many places.

  17. Dana/David, you have to go there at least once. Skip the big city and go the suburbs so you can see the temples.
