Walked the Golden Gate Bridge only for the 2nd time in my life even though I lived in the area forever. During the bridge remodeling/construction, bicyclists have to share the same sidewalk as pedestrians. Normally, they ride on the other side of the bridge. It made for a very dangerous walk always looking out for speeding bikes from both directions and not to mention large crowds out and about.

Looks like a red bridge to me. Some story behind the name I guess.
Great shot.

I can recognize the distinctive coloring of the Golden Gate Bridge in any photo ;)

Looks like it may be a tight squeeze if it gets busy on there!

stay on your right, something very new to me when i just moved to US, and actually, surprised always to find out some of my friends who have been here in the US longer than I do still have no idea to stay on your right when walking :)

love your capture of the rules though.

Most people don't obey the rules and that may cause accidents to happen.

I haven't walked across many bridges, but that looks like a nice path.

It is dangerous as all get out, despite the signage. However, I wish more of our paths were as well signed as this. Great shot - trust you walked these last couple of days when the weather has been so spectacular.

Indrani: The Golden Gate Bridge is actually "international orange" color. The fog and salt also eats away at the paint and causes corrosion.

catsynth: It's easily spottable by any San Franciscan. :)

LifeRamblings: You have been everywhere so I hope you get a chance to come to San Francisco too.

eileeninmd: With the nice weather and it being a weekend, people were out in droves, so it was hard to follow the rules.

cocomino: Too many people with no one to enforce them so the rules were not followed very closely.

rainfield61: Rules of the road also shown wordlessly.

christine: Thanks for visiting! Tourists and San Franciscans love our famous bridge.

llandudnopictures: You guessed it. Nice weather and a busy weekend cause traffic jams in the walkway and bikeway.

Betchai: It is safer to walk on the right in the U.S. I guess it has been programmed into us at an early age.

EastCoastLife: The bicyclists were riding too fast and encountering them going in both directions simultaneously was very scary.

Kristin: One way on the bridge is 1.7 miles, but save enough energy to walk back.

La Principessa Errante: Yes, I was there last Saturday with the SF photography meetup group. With the bridge under construction in some areas, the signs read "walk your bikes", but rarely did that happen. Dangerous indeed!

kulasa: I hope you get a chance too. Thanks for visiting.

That's a bit narrow for two bikes, but ok be careful.
