Frog Country
The building in this picture holds the tourist information center.
Main Street is littered with frogs. You can spot one on this corner amongst the town's historical buildings.

Like the Hollywood Walk-of-Fame, winners of each year's frog jumping contest is commemorated on Angels Camp's sidewalks with a bronze plaque. How cool is that! Folks, get your frog ready for next year's contest!

It is so quaint in that town. I've only been there once and loved it. The froggywood walk of fame is adorable.

Its crazy that I have lived in the SF Bay Area most of my life and never made it to the frog jumping contest. Sometimes we just live too close to do the touristy things.
To answer your question , the picture was taken Sept. 12 and it did rain just enough to make the cars look dirty. It threatened all day and I know some places got measurable rain.
Had just heard about it till some time back. Couldn't believe there actually exists this kind of a contest! Nice post once again.
