Here is another photo on rust. This one was taken in front of the La Montagne Boarding House in Alviso. This is the La Montagne Boarding House circa 1890. Originally built as a private home, the house was remodeled in 1904 to serve as a boarding house for PG&E (local gas & electrical company) employees. Today it is fondly known by town residents as the Big Yellow House although it doesn't look very yellow.- AV

What a beautiful old house. Gosh, you even make rust look good.
As for your comment about you sprung, yes we do make like more complicated for ourselves even by placing too many clocks in our homes.
This is a beautiful house.
Yellow or not, it's an unusual house, and it looks like a boarding house!!
Somehow that nice house doesn't fit with the rusty tank. The house is much to fine.
I really like the top photo.
Maybe it was yellow back then, when it served as a boarding house (I like the "worker boarding house" concept, you know, it makes a lot of sense to me - I mean, even today, I think that a lot of single people would benefit if such accommodations were made available.)
Amazing the photographs, so much beautiful, but so much different, old manufactures, the one luminous, brilliant, snow-white, and the other with rust and dark! Very good post!
Great shots. I like that boarding house concept too. Beautiful Victorian era building and the rust photo is super.
I love that house, they have so much history to them, and the porch is so inviting. Have you ever noticed that there starting to start new homes now with more porches and making the houses look like old time homes again?Well at least they are doing it here in Bend anyways.
Visiting from Neva's site.
What a lovely old building, and no it doesn't look very yellow. Even the rusty photo was very interesting looking. Nice pics.
Thank you all for your comments. I like porches and I noticed there are two although the one on the 2nd floor doesn't seem to have a door.
The odd part was this rusty tank was sitting out in front of the house. I don't know exactly what it is used for. Look like something from those moonshine days.
lovely capture of the rust.
thanks for visiting Mindless Mumbai
