Daydreaming

Wikipedia says "daydreaming is a fantasy that a person has while awake, often about spontaneous and fanciful thoughts not connected to the person's immediate situation".

On your way to work, have you ever thought about purposely missing your exit off of the freeway or the entrance to your workplace parking lot and instead driving off somewhere to have fun or never return back to your job? I had these fantasies for years, but never really acted on them. Maybe because I'm too dutiful.

Well, as my job becomes more frustrating and the weather becomes warmer, these fantasies are surfacing again. Maybe some day I'll be writing about my adventures in this blog.

Unfortunately I miss my offramps quite frequently, but only because I'm a bad driver.

I have daydreamed and realized that my exit was 5 miles ago...does that count?

Hi Bungi, it doesn't sound like you drive to work. Much safer to daydream when you leave the driving to someone else! ;P

Hi Sweatpantsmom, you can't be worse than my sister-in-law, who needs a GPS just to find her car in a parking lot.

Hi Shawn C, Wow, you must've been in deep thought for missing 5 miles, but it's better than 10 miles. :)

Oh the adventures await!! How exciting that would be! Just make sure you tell someone where you are going so they don't think something happened to ya!

Beth, thanks for your concern. We'll see how it plays out.
