  1. I've always loved that little spot. And I have always wondered who painted it and why. I assume it was a very, very inside joke in that neighborhood.

  2. It is a great painting or mural. There must be some kind of joke that goes with it!

  3. Really makes me wonder about the story behind it! I really like the successive shots pulling out.

  4. ArtandArchitecture: This was my first encounter with this mural. Here is what I read on yelp...
(The plaque reads: After adoringly befriending Dr. Bob Major, "Ginger" became "office dog" and vice-president of public relations for her master. Despite having flunked biting in training school, one can plainly see that this apricot teacup poodle is definitely destined for reading success.

eileeninmd: I don't get the joke either, but since dogs can't read, I'm sure they use the hydrant anyways.

Londonlulu: Thanks for noticing! I figured readers would be interested in getting a close-up shot along with the overall view of where this mural lives.

  5. I like the way you "zoom out" so we can understand the perspective. Happy WW

  7. Cute! That is in SF, yes? (the "No Parking" sign suggests that it is.)

  11. That is funny. I used to work with a guy who was in the Navy. He swears that in Norfolk, VA the city parks had signs that said "Dogs and Sailors stay off the grass."

  12. lol.... if only dogs can read.
I'm pretty sure the dogs would prefer the red hydrant.
