Vasona Lake Park Bridge

Even during this overcast day, this brightly colored bridge illuminates the center of Vasona Park in Los Gatos, CA (approximately 50 miles south of San Francisco).

A popular place for photographers and joggers alike.

Even pigeons use it as a place to get a "birds-eye" view of the people below.

Have a nice weekend!

  3. I hope no one gets crapped by the pigeons while walking on the bridge. xD

  4. Karen, we need to remember to link this bridge to «Louis'» Sunday Bridges meme.

  7. Filip: I could not find anything about when the bridge was built, but I did read somewhere that in the early 1900's the area was named "Vasona" after a pony a local resident had as a young boy.

WebbieLady: The pigeons could probably spot the red bridge miles away.

Lina: Haha, good point! Those joggers and walkers better move fast.

Louis: Thank you for the suggestion!

Betchai: During the Christmas holidays, this park is decorated in festive lights. So the green and red is perfect all year round.

EastCoastLife: Humans and wildlife flock to this area on weekends.

  11. Nice attractive bridge. Something about pedestrian bridges make them good photo subjects.

  12. This is an especially nice pedestrian bridge. Like the color and the design/shapes. I can see why it would be a popular spot was people going out for a walk. Nice capture. genie

  14. Ha ha! Pigeons are so crafty, managing to coop at the top there despite the anti-pigeon wire!

I love your first photo. The water looks so soothing and still, with just a slight breeze.

  15. Superb picture. Looks like a fantastic place to explore...I would love it there.

Seemingly if a pigeon poops on you, that is meant to be lucky! Last week I was sitting on the tube and I smelled a disgusting smell coming from my arm...a piegon had crapped on my arm...I felt so lucky!

  16. This bridge is somewhat different from the image what I've used to, though not in large size, it is particular.
