I spotted this in St. Wolfgang, Austria, but don't know enough German to decipher the sign at the bottom. So for now, I shall call it the "Smiling Tree" as it looks like the faces were carved from a tree.
Thank you everyone for your comments. You know, I rush around taking pictures and I forget to touch this sculpture to see what it felt like. I'm fairly certain it is from a real tree carved with the faces...maybe.
