I is for Inside Passage on ABC Wednesday

Leaving the port of Skagway on a cruise ship

Sailing on Glacier Bay

Tenders leaving for Ketchikan

Serenity of Misty Fjords

If you've been reading my posts, you know Alaska is one of my favorite vacation spots. Here's a few pictures from my cruises through Alaska's southeastern region known as the Inside Passage. The wildlife (i.e. eagles, bears, whales, dolphins, ...etc), the beauty of the glaciers, and the lush greenery make Alaska a magical place.

Wow, incredibly imposssible beauty!

kml, it's much more beautiful in person. The camera doesn't even begin to capture it. I only wished I took more photos that day. We happened to be cruising through this beautiful spot during dinner and missed most of the scenery.

I have been to Alaska 3 times and each time I find it more beautiful then before. Your pictures show that. Thanks for posting though this photos give me a twinge of longing to go back.

Wonderful pictures to share. I have not been Alaska and that would be an ideal place for me to visit in the summer. Love your pictures and theme.

When I clicked on the photo to enlarge it, I was mostly interested in seeing the size of the tugboat. Looking, I quietly uttered, "Oh, my. Oh, my." I cannot believe that the water looks like a frozen pond. It's like the tug and the cruise ships are skating! Fantastic.

Beautiful pictures. I did the cruise in 1999 and it was amazing.

Skagway features in one of my forthcoming novels!

My favourite is the second picture on this post ....

Digital Flower, I've been to AK 3 times as well and I haven't even began to scratch the surface. I would love to stay there for a summer just to explore & take photos.

Lynette, it does look like a frozen pond now that you brought it up. Although I took this picture back in 2001 with my first digital camera, I still remember that scenery like I was just there.

Hi David, A novel about Alaska? It sounds intriguing.

I must get myself to Alaska some time.

Mike, you'll be glad you did! Unfortunately, the winters are too harsh; otherwise, I would love to see the Northern Lights.

I'll get there one day, too. Let me first see if I can handle New Year's in Yellowstone.

AVCr8teur said...

Susan, I've never been to Yellowstone. The weather in AK during the summer varies so it's a crap shoot so it all depends on luck. I imagine it's quite cold in Yellowstone during the winter.

I think I'm going to have to give in and visit the Fjords, they look so serene - but cold, maybe I'll go in the summer!

Just added you to my ABC Blogroll, what an omission! Apologies.

Thanks Walksfarwoman for the Blogroll!

I know I'm behind AV...but I really like the photos. They are beautiful. My parents love Alaska as well. They have gone there a couple of times - on cruises. they love it.

Thanks Dana. If you've been to Alaska once, there's always a yearning to go back.
