This wall is a half-size replica of the Vietnam War Memorial in Washington, DC. The creator, John Devitt, and other Vietnam War veterans built this mobile wall to bring it to communities who might not have the opportunity to see the real one. During this Veterans Day week, we were lucky to have it travel into our area. Although it might not have been the actual wall, it was nevertheless a moving experience. See more in upcoming posts...

the creation of mobile wall is very purposeful, like what you said, it may not be the actual wall, but it is capable of touching people.

What a good and impressive idea.

There should be a memorial wall in every major US city for the people who can't make it through to D.C. Let's face it, it looks like our troops will be fighting in foreign lands for a while yet.

Very impressive memorial. I am sure you are silent in such a place. I remember my visit to the Vietnam Memorial in Washington.

Greetings,
Filip

The replica is quite impressive in its detail. It's a great idea.

I did have a chance to see the real wall in DC - a very powerful space.

The moving wall has been close a couple times. I'm sorry to say that I haven't been to see it yet.

Even if you haven’t been able to visit the Moving Wall in person -- Here is an excellent resource in support of The Wall that Heals-- The Virtual Wall - http://www.virtualwall.org -- has memorial pages honoring all the women and men who are named on "The Wall" in Washington, DC. The site has been maintained since 1997 by volunteers who have ties to our soldiers and loved ones lost in Vietnam and donate their time to scan and post photos daily and update honors, medals, and other history.
You can leave tributes, letters, poems, photos, and other memorials to someone named on The Wall for other visitors to view, and you can search by names, by state, town, date, etc. Personally, I lost my high school sweetheart/fiancé to Vietnam.
