Does it look like this pelican can read and is obeying the sign? Or, is he hoping no one is watching so he can sneak across the fence? Or, is he thinking of something else?
I can't believe how big there beaks are, what a great shot you got there.
I just thought i would also mention that the Rt 66 sign in that room along with the Biker bear if you didn't notice that, was purchased at Kingmen. Also that room is our Pet Room, Notice the floor, it has no carpet, only throw rugs.
Thanks for all your comments. I didn't think about flying over as trespassing, but I think that makes sense. As far as escaping from the paparazzi, I think you've hit the nail on the head. It was being followed by all the tourists, including myself, as if we have never seen a pelican before. Sheesh! :P I wouldn't want to get too close and be pecked by that big beak.

It looks a bit sad, maybe it is because it can't enter? But is flying over trespassing. Might be a nice judicial point.

I think he is trying to flee the paparazzi.

I'm not surprised that Jim figured out what was going on--he's pretty sharp. And so are you for getting this excellent photo!
Cute post and he sure is a pretty one. I bet he goes wherever he wants.
